'28 Years Later' And Its Sequel Wrap Filming
Danny Boyle and Alex Garland’s revamped zombie apocalypse series is nearing completion, with both 28 Years Later and its sequel now in the can. Star Ralph Fiennes confirmed that we should be expecting a trilogy, “It’s three films, of which two have been shot.”
28 Years Later was filmed on a specially adapted iPhone 15 Max, and the cinematography in the trailer looks stunning, as you’d expect from Boyle. It’s likely shooting movies on mobiles will become less of rare event in Hollywood.
Cillian Murphy is returning as Jim, the biker courier who rocked a hospital gown through the streets of London in 28 Days Later. But this will be Ralph Fiennes’ first time working with Danny Boyle. However, he’s happy to spill the tea. In a recent interview, he said:
“Britain is 28 years into this terrible plague of infected people who are violent, rabid humans with a few pockets of uninfected communities. And it centers on a young boy who wants to find a doctor to help his dying mother. He leads his mother through this beautiful northern English terrain. But of course, around them hiding in forests and hills and woods are the infected. But he finds a doctor who is a man we might think is going to be weird and odd, but actually is a force for good.”
28 Years Later is expected to be released on 20th June 2025.
