Kylo Ren Featured In New 'Star Wars' Comic
Star Wars is getting a brand new comic series written by Charles Soule this coming February.
Legacy of Vader will be an ongoing series set shortly after The Last Jedi and before The Rise of Skywalker and will feature Kylo Ren seeking guidance from and knowledge on his grandfather after a true litany of personally destabilizing events. The announcement also revealed that Kylo Ren will be traveling to Fortress Vader near the start of the series, and a journey to Tatooine will also take place later.
Other information revealed through various online discussions by Charles Soule reveals that General Armitage Hux will be along for the ride for at least part of the adventure, while Marvel editor Mark Paniccia described the story as “brutal.”

This news is particularly exciting as Soule is one of Star Wars’ most prolific comic authors, working on at least a dozen series, mini or otherwise. Soule’s experience writing Darth Vader (2017) and The Rise of Kylo Ren (2019), both stellar series, will surely benefit him here. Both series are also highly praised by fans, alongside much of Soule’s other work both in comics and in books (though Light of the Jedi remains, for now, his own Star Wars book).
The comic seems to be part of a slowly-forming celebration of the 10th anniversary of The Force Awakens, which was released at the end of 2015. While to this point there has been more of a focus on Revenge of the Sith/Prequel-related material in the comic space for the 20th anniversary of Revenge of the Sith, Legacy of Vader joins the just-announced Poe Dameron series from Dark Horse as another piece of Sequel Trilogy era content. We here at CultureSlate also want to note the lack of information regarding books for the second half of 2025 and hope that further content will tie into the celebration of the first Sequel Trilogy film during that time.
Legacy of Vader begins February 5th, 2025.
