The wait is over. Din Djarin and his little green buddy have finally returned! Season 3 of The Mandalorian kicked off with many interesting and exciting details throughout. Here are some of the best moments from the premiere.

5. The Naboo Starfighter In Action

Din’s ship may have thrown some fans for a loop when he swoops in to aid his fellow Mandalorians. Then, we see the full capabilities of the ship as he expertly maneuvers around the space pirates.

Moff Gideon had destroyed the Razor Crest in their previous skirmish, so our hero had to find a replacement. Some sharp-eyed fans may recognize it as a modified Naboo N-1 starfighter. He worked on this Razor Crest replacement with Peli Motto and her droids on Tatooine. Not only did they build it on-screen, but Din also brought it for a test flight to show off its capabilities. You can find this arc in Episodes 4-6 of The Book of Boba Fett.

4. Office Chair Spinning

In this blink-and-you-miss-it moment, Grogu kept busy during the meeting between Din Djarin and Greef Karga. It seems to be a universal truth that if a chair spins, you have to spin in it. Grogu can be seen spinning himself with the Force until Din stops the chair. This is a prime example of the little details that make his character so endearing. It also shows improvement in his control and stamina when using the Force!

3. Return Of The Purrgil And Hyperspace Cuddles

Who doesn’t love a good space whale?  What about a whole pod?  During a bit of hyperspace travel, Grogu spots the outline of whale-shaped creatures swimming through the cosmos. That singular figure quickly turns into a great deal, making for a beautiful yet dangerous sight. You may recognize the purrgil from Star Wars Rebels and the role it plays in the series finale.

The duo can count themselves lucky that they got out unscathed, as the purrgil have a tendency to swim into hyperspace lanes. The space whales aren’t the only cute thing about the scene though. Grogu popping into Din’s arms while the man appears to be sleeping and the Mandalorian holding him tighter are enough to melt the surface of Hoth.

2. A Look At Bo-Katan’s Throne Room

Since her sister Satine’s homeworld is Kalevala, it’s reasonable for Bo-Katan’s to be as well. The design of the throne room we saw was a beautiful mix of simple architecture and strategic positioning.

The cinematography in this scene is perfect. As Bo-Katan states how the Children of the Watch “fractured and shattered” the people, the camera zooms out to show the sculpture on her wall. It depicts Mandalorian fighting Mandalorian, which can parallel the Purge and related conflicts. Overall, the throne room may be a bit bare, but the details that are present add to the moment.

1. A Mandalorian Initiation

We know that the Children of the Watch are a bit different and a bit more extreme than others. While the ceremony in the episode is cut short with a bang (or a bite), what we get to see was interesting. Any insight into their ways gives a better understanding of their group and of Din himself.

The season premiere has set the father/son duo up for something great. There were so many great details sprinkled throughout, narrowing them to a few of the best was a feat (like the Kowakian monkey-lizards and the Anzellans).

New episodes of The Mandalorian Season 3 are now premiering every Wednesday on Disney+.
