Thanksgiving has come and gone. Christmas trees are up in stores, and Christmas songs have taken over the radio stations. It is officially the holiday season, which means it is time to curl up with some cozy holiday movies and enjoy the magic of the season! This list will not include any horror movies, but don’t worry we gave them their own list. Here are ten movies I think you should watch this holiday season and where to find them. So grab a cup of hot cocoa because we are getting nice and cozy with this list!

10. The Holiday

This is definitely one of the more mature movies on this list, but it is a must-see for any Rom-Com fans! The story is relatable, heartbreaking, and magical, which makes it perfect for the holiday season. This movie is perfect for watching with a glass of wine and your coziest blanket!

The Holiday is available to rent on Amazon Prime Video

9. The Santa Clause

I’m fairly confident that almost everyone has seen this movie, and honestly, this wouldn’t be a holiday movie watchlist without it. There are currently three films in the franchise and a new series on Disney+, but if you only have time to watch one of the films this year, I definitely recommend the original!

The Santa Clause is available to watch on Disney+

8. A Christmas Story

A true Christmas classic, this film had to find its place on this list! This film has been filling homes with joy and laughter for nearly four decades, and now that its sequel is out, there is plenty of Ralphie and his antics to keep you entertained this holiday season!

A Christmas Story and A Christmas Story Christmas are available to watch on HBO Max

7. Home Alone

This holiday staple is a great film for audiences of all ages and never ceases to make everyone laugh. Plus, its sequel is actually really good and features a hilarious performance by Tim Curry.

Home Alone and Home Alone 2 are available to watch on Disney+.

6. It’s a Wonderful Life

This is one of the only films on this list that I would recommend only for our teen and up audience. While the movie is technically family-friendly, it does explore topics like depression and suicide, which may not be suitable for younger audiences. The film has a happy ending, but it explores the complexities of adult and family life in a refreshing way and will leave you feeling like your heart has grown three sizes!

It’s a Wonderful Life is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.

5. Elf

This is one of my favorite holiday movies of all time! It is the definition of holiday magic, and it is perfect for audiences of all ages. The humor will hit right for the entire family, and you can’t help but smile while you’re watching it.

Elf is available to watch on HBO Max.

4. Miracle on 34th Street

The original Miracle on 34th Street is a film that I believe everyone should see at least once in their life. I didn’t see this movie until I was 29 years old, and it is now one of my favorites. The film is so heartwarming that regardless of your age, and it might just make you believe in Santa Claus again!

Miracle on 34t Street is available to watch Disney+.

3. A Christmas Carol

There are so many great iterations of this classic story, including a new animated musical coming to Netflix this year. The one I recommend above all others though is the 1984 made-for-TV movie. It has some of the best castings I have ever seen, and it tells the story in a heartwarming but honest way.

A Christmas Carol is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.

2. The Grinch

There isn’t a bad iteration of Dr. Seuss’s classic tale, in my opinion, but the 2018 version starring Benedict Cumberbatch is by far my favorite. While the story is the same, this version includes a deeper dive into the Grinch’s past, making it clear that he is not the villain we were led to believe he was. I highly recommend this version to everyone!

The Grinch is available to rent on Amazon Prime Video.

1. A Charlie Brown Christmas

I believe this ultimate holiday movie belongs at the top of every holiday watch list. It is a true classic that never ceases to bring a smile to every face. The movie is also more honest about what the holiday season feels like for many.

A Charlie Brown Christmas is available to watch on Apple TV.
