4. Captain America: New World Order Set Photos Have Released

The next Captain America movie, Captain America: New World Order, is filming. The movie will star Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, who took up the mantle after the events of Avengers: Endgame and Falcon and Winter Soldier. At the end of Falcon and Winter Soldier, we see Sam Wilson fully embracing Captain America's mantle. He even has a fancy new suit to accompany his new title. New photos have surfaced of the filming of Captain America 4, and it seems that Sam Wilson has a new suit once again.

The pictures are a bit distant, but we can see what looks like a new Captain America suit on Anthony Mackie. It seems closer to the ones we saw Chris Evans wore, during his time as Captain America. It is unknown if this will be his primary suit, or if we will see the white one we saw at the end of the show. However, it seems that Sam isn’t the only one with a new suit, as the photos show Danny Ramirez who played Joaquin Torres in Falcon and Winter Soldier, who has taken on the mantle of the Falcon after it was passed to him by Sam. According to the photos, His suit seems more brown and green.

Even though the next film is far off, many casting announcements have been released. It will be interesting to see what direction this film takes and to see these suits in action as well.

3. GTA 6 Release Window

In a recent press release accompanying its annual earnings report, gaming publisher Take-Two Interactive dropped a tantalizing hint about the future of the Grand Theft Auto franchise. The release shared projections for the coming years, focusing particularly on fiscal years 2025 and 2026. While the company refrained from mentioning Grand Theft Auto 6 explicitly, it's hard to ignore the implications. Take-Two stated, "For the last several years, we have been preparing our business to release an incredibly robust pipeline of projects that we believe will take our company to even greater levels of success. In Fiscal 2025, we expect to enter this new era by launching several groundbreaking titles that we believe will set new standards in our industry." The ambitious goals outlined include achieving over $8 billion in Net Bookings and over $1 billion in Adjusted Unrestricted Operating Cash Flow.

Given Take-Two's immense success in the past, with net bookings reaching a record annual high of $5.3 billion, it's hard to imagine any other franchise that could achieve such monumental numbers. Grand Theft Auto V, the current pinnacle of the series, remains the best-selling single game of all time, with a consistent sales trajectory over the years. With its popular multiplayer component, GTA Online, acting as a significant revenue driver, the demand for a new installment in the franchise is undeniable.

While Take-Two did not directly confirm or deny the speculation, CEO Strauss Zelnick opted not to discuss specific, unannounced titles during the earnings call. However, the industry's eagerness for Grand Theft Auto 6 is fueled by the leak of incomplete game assets late last year. Rockstar Games, the developer behind the franchise, confirmed that GTA 6 was in active development but has remained tight-lipped about its progress. As fans eagerly await an official announcement, the prospect of a new Grand Theft Auto game continues to generate excitement and speculation within the gaming community. If the projections outlined in Take-Two's earnings report hold, we may soon witness the arrival of a groundbreaking title that will redefine industry standards and propel the company to even greater heights of success. Until then, fans will keep their eyes peeled for any official updates on the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6.

2. A ‘Scalebound’ Revival Could Be In The Works Between Microsoft And Platinum Games

Going back to 2017, Xbox fans were met with disappointment when the game Scalebound was canceled. Fast forward six years to today, and it seems there is a chance at a revival.

According to Nick 'Shpeshal' Baker, who is one of the hosts of the XboxEra podcast, he has heard from two sources that Microsoft and Platinum Games are in the initial stages of talks to revive the game.

The developers have made it clear they would like to finish or remake the game, with both Atsushi Inaba and Hideki Kamiya of Platinum Games speaking on the matter in interviews over the last couple of years, despite Xbox’s Phil Spencer rejecting the idea in 2020.  This more recent whisper suggests that they may be reviewing that decision.

This comes in the wake of the Redfall debacle, with Microsoft, and Phil Spencer in particular, taking some heat for the state of the game when it launched. There’s talk of Starfield being a chance at redemption for the gaming giant, and if they pull it off, perhaps there’s a return to Scalebound in the works.

The game seemed relatively well-received from demos and gameplay videos. It featured the protagonist Drew who was linked to a dragon named Thuban, likely through Drew’s dragon-like arm. Players controlled Drew and AI mostly controlled Thuban, but players could issue him commands and even sometimes take direct control over the dragon. There were plans for a co-op mode as well, but sadly, like the rest of the game, it was scrapped.

Games take quite some time to develop so it may be some time before we see anything on this one.

1. Marvel Drops Avengers: The Kang Dynasty Writer

After mixed reviews of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, whether or not Jeff Loveness will write Avengers: The Kang Dynasty remains to be seen. The Kang Dynasty was set to release in 2025. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania retains a 6/10 on IMDb, the lowest of the Ant-Man trilogy. The previous Ant-Man films obtain at least a 7/10 on IMDb.

Jeff Loveness is responsible for working on the Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and the Rick and Morty episode “Mort Dinner Rick Andre.” Jeff Sneider revealed in their tweet, “Hearing that screenwriter Jeff Loveness is off Avengers Kang Dynasty … and that he fell off prior to the strike.”

This means Jeff Loveness would not have lost out on the project due to striking with the Writer’s Guild of America. Instead, Jeff Loveness would have been laid off or quit the project for something internal. The WGA strike began on May 2nd but Sneider’s tweet was tweeted on May 18th. However, this would not be the first time that Marvel has made such a move. Previously, Stacy Osei-Kuffour was initially selected to write the script for Blade but was later rumored to be replaced by Nic Pizzolatto. Many fans are eager to have the writer for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty to be announced.
