4. Ryan Reynolds Teases Deadpool And Miss Minutes Crossover

Deadpool 3 was finally announced. There was a fun announcement video that Ryan Reynolds posted on his Twitter page that also confirmed that Hugh Jackman will be reprising his role as Wolverine. With Deadpool 3 in the distant future, fans wonder if the anti-hero could be a part of the MCU. A recent Twitter interaction between an unofficial Miss Minutes Twitter account and Ryan Reynolds thinks so.

Miss Minutes is a supporting character in the Loki TV series on Disney+. An unofficial Twitter account recently tweeted “Hey there, Deadpool''- Love Miss Minutes''. It also tagged the official Deadpool Twitter account, which got the attention of Deadpool actor, Ryan Reynolds. He replied with a “hello” to the Miss Minutes tweet, and sent fans into a frenzy.

The Miss Minutes account later replied to a fan saying that she was just “saying hi to the neighborhood merc with a mouth” and that she doesn’t expect a Miss Minutes appearance in Deadpool 3. The interaction however has fans thinking that it would be easy to use Loki and the multiverse in the film. Especially considering Wolverine is reprising his role, a character who is supposed to be dead after the events of Logan.

While the chance of the multiverse and a Loki crossover probably won’t happen, it’s still fun to speculate. Especially when they’re bringing back a character from the dead. Deadpool 3 is still a long way away but is expected to go into production in 2023.

3. Sony May Have Inadvertently Leaked The Release Date Of The Next Playstation

In a tweet by @PiersHR on Twitter, a snapshot of Sony’s response to the CMA (Competition and Markets Authority) and the Microsoft acquisition of Activision Blizzard was provided. Interestingly, there is a redacted segment following a comment on when the next-generation console s likely to drop.

An evaluation of the context suggests when the console is likely to drop. The comments involved the loss of the Call of Duty franchise on Sony consoles, which Microsoft seems to say would continue until 2027. There’s a line in the picture that reads “By the time SIE launched the next generation of its Playstation console (which is likely to occur around…) it would have lost access to Call of Duty and other Activision titles…” So, if Microsoft would let Sony still access CoD until 2027, and by the time the next Playstation is launched they’ll have lost access to the franchise, it suggests that the next Playstation could launch as soon as 2028.

That would make the current generation’s life cycle at least as long as eight years. That tracks for the average life cycle of a Sony console, though it’s on the longer end of the average. The Playstation 1 was launched in North America in 1995, it’s successor came five years later in 2000. The Playstation 3 launched in 2006, followed by the Playstation 4 in 2013. The Playstation 5 has only been out for two years, having launched in 2020.

So, if this pans out, and it would be some time before we get confirmation, it looks like we have about six more years to go before the world sees a Playstation 6.

2. Latino Review Media Says Rogue Squadron 2024 Is Possible

Star Wars movies, there just doesn’t seem to be not a lot of them these days. Since the Rise of Skywalker, we haven’t had any major Star Wars stories in theaters for several years. But could that change soon? It seemed that changes at the top of the hierarchy of power, Disney itself, might affect that. According to people at Latino Review Media, Bob Iger’s return as CEO of the whole Disney Empire means that Star Wars films might be moving further into production. The rumor is that it may be speeding up the production of Rogue Squadron for next year, which while wild, could be possible. The film so far is either no longer happening or simply on a long-scale hiatus for now, but perhaps that could change..

Latino Movie Review has only heard whisperings of this and can’t and are not able to go any deeper into it. The idea of a movie being fast-tracked to 2024 seems impossible and could mean the movie would have been rushed. Then again, weirder things have happened, so we will see what happens to the movie side of the galaxy far far away.

1. New Unseen Footage Of ‘The Mandalorian’ From CCXP

During CCXP – a Brazilian entertainment expo, Marvel and Lucasfilm film projects were shown. Among them was a new trailer for The Mandalorian season 3.

The trailer starts with a recap of the most important part of Din Djarin’s appearance in The Book of Boba Fett, where The Armorer declared him not a true Mandalorian upon learning he had taken his helmet off. Other characters seen across the trailer include Grogu, Greef Karga, and Peli Motto. Bo-Katan also appears, sitting on a throne and looking annoyed as she thinks about the Darksaber.

Of more importance is what the trailer shows which is completely unseen footage. Coruscant is set to feature. There’s an action scene of Din running away from TIE Fighters. Din and Grogu will be venturing within a scrapped Star Destroyer. Mandalore was also seen within. The final scene of the trailer ended with Grogu using the Force against a monster. This scene was the most applauded during the showing. After all, how could you not love Grogu being awesome?

The Mandalorian season 3 is set to be bigger in scope than previous seasons, with plenty of battles, Mandalorians, and even some surprises. The series is set to arrive on Disney+ starting 1 March.
