3. Microsoft Will Apparently Release Their Next Generation Xboxes In 2026…And One Of Them Is A Handheld

It’s been a wild year for Microsoft and Xbox fans, and it’s only February!

Rumors started to swirl last fall that Microsoft was planning for a 2026 release for its next generation of Xbox consoles. This was near the time that they finished their acquisition of Activision-Blizzard. That was quickly followed by an announcement of large layoffs. Then, it was rumored that Microsoft planned to release Xbox-exclusive games on Playstation and Switch. This was accompanied by posts online of images of Gamepass losing the Xbox logo and just going multiplatform. Phil Spencer responded quickly to the viral information with an announcement of a business update directly next week sometime.

As if that wasn’t crazy enough, a new rumor arises from the next generation console one. Word comes down from Xbox Community member Magg. That next-gen release window is correct, and there will be two SKUs, one for a high-end console like the Series X, and another for a Switch-style dockable, hand-held system.

All of this needs to be taken with a grain of salt until it is confirmed, but with all the attention swirling around Microsoft these days, and the popularity of the Switch and the Playstation Portable, there could be some validity to these rumors. Stay tuned to see what develops.

2. ‘The Mandalorian And Grogu’ Begins Production in June

The Star Wars movie scene will soon be expanding and it seems to be beginning in June!

According to Production Weekly, it seems that The Mandalorian And Grogu will be entering production this June! This will be amazing news for all fans of Star Wars as we wait to see a film return to the big screen.

According to official sources, aka Bob Iger, The Mandalorian and Grogu is set to release sometime in 2026. So having the film begin its production in June would give it plenty of time for 2026, perhaps even in May of the year.

Either way, it will be a great day to see Star Wars return to the theaters once again, so fans can see that Galaxy Far Far Away once again.

1. ‘Thor 5’ Will Be The Last One Of The Franchise

Even if the movies don’t do too well anymore, Marvel isn’t stopping when it comes to movies. They have a huge slate of content coming up through the next few years. While most of the original Avengers only got three standalone movies, it seems Thor has been lucky enough to get more. Thor 5 has been rumored for a while, but supposedly it will be the last one of the Thor franchise.

Taika Watiti directed both Thor: Ragnarok and Thor: Love And Thunder but has confirmed that he will not return for the fifth installment, which is a shame, considering his movies gave the character new life, and were quite exciting. Marvel Studios is currently looking for someone else to helm the project. According to a post on X, it is also rumored that Thor 5 will be the last movie in the Thor series.

While not much is known about the movie, it is rumored that Hercules is set to be the main villain of the movie, who will eventually turn and help Thor in the end against a much bigger threat. It will also introduce Thor’s half-brother, Balder The Brave. There was even an easter egg regarding Balder in Loki season 2. Valhalla will also be revisited in the film.

If Thor 5 is indeed the last Thor movie then it will truly be the end of an era in the MCU. It would be the perfect way to say goodbye to this beloved character.
