3. Marvel Has Four Unnamed Movies Coming In The MCU, But We Likely Know What They Are

We know that Robert Downey Jr. will return to the MCU, but this time as Doctor Doom. We also know that the next two Avengers movies will be Doomsday and Secret Wars. But recently, an updated slate of Marvel releases was posted by @DiscussingFilm on X, with four untitled films.

However, over the past year or so, through snippets here and there, we likely already know what those films are. It can't be said when they’ll come in the order, but by putting the puzzle pieces together, we have a good idea of what they are.

Three of those films will likely be Armor Wars, Spider-Man 4, and Shang-Chi 2. Armor Wars is rumored to be set up through Captain America: Brave New World, and the last update for that claims it has been reworked from a series to a film. Shang-Chi 2 is confirmed to be in the works. Spider-Man 4 was confirmed by Feige, who said it is being put pen to paper.

We know Ryan Gosling has been heavily talked about to play Ghost Rider, but it has not been confirmed officially. There have also been numerous rumors of a Midnight Suns movie. The groundwork is there with Blade, mutants, Agatha Harkness, Wanda, and supposedly Ghost Rider, all of whom have been part of the comic version of the group. There just has been no official announcement of these two movies being part of the lineup.

There is also the final possibility that Spider-Man 4 is not part of the MCU line-up. However, with Spidey being pretty important to the Secret Wars comic runs, it’s unlikely. Feige confirmed that with the premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine, the new era of the MCU is officially known as the Mutant Era. If that’s the case, there’s a strong possibility that the fourth movie that has not been titled is Midnight Suns. It would be a sweet way to introduce some of the coolest Marvel characters around, including Ghost Rider.

2. D23 Is Said To Go Big With Gaming News This Year, According To 'Fortnite' Leaker

Disney’s D23 expo is to take place next week, with many panels taking place across the weekend of August 9-11. According to known Fortnite leaker ‘Wenso’, gaming will play a big part in this year’s expo. It shouldn’t come as a surprise when Disney bought a big stake in Epic Games earlier this year.

At the same time, they announced a concept for an expansive Disney-themed universe built within Fortnite. Whatever progress has been made with that concept, a Disney-themed expo would be the best fit for showing it off. According to ‘Wenso’, D23 could also be the place where a teaser for the Fortnite X Marvel crossover event is shared. This event is to be starting a few days after D23 ends, so it is also a perfect fit for the expo.

Other games that could potentially show themselves at D23 are Star Wars Outlaws and Kingdom Hearts 4. Outlaws will launch at the end of August, making D23 the perfect time to start the final marketing push. Kingdom Hearts 4 was announced in 2022, with little seen since that time. The series has seen trailers be revealed at D23 before. This year’s event would be the perfect time to bring it back into the public eye.

1. Tom Cruise To Play Iron Man In A Future MCU Movie?

Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man is iconic, and fans couldn’t picture anyone else playing the role besides him. However, he wasn’t always the first choice for the role. Before RDJ was cast back in the role in 2008, Marvel Studios was eyeing Tom Cruise for the role. Obviously, he didn’t get it, but that doesn’t mean his hopes of being Iron Man are done, as Marvel may be looking at Cruise again to play Iron Man in a future MCU movie.

Before Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness came out, rumors swirled that Feige wanted Cruise to play a role in the movie, but a scheduling conflict forced him to decline the offer. Cruise has never answered questions regarding his involvement with the MCU, but says he “was not close to playing the role of Iron Man”.

Recently, it was announced the RDJ is back in the MCU, but this time as Doctor Doom. This gives Cruise the chance to play Iron Man and MyTimeToShineHello believes that Marvel is eager for Cruise to play an alternate universe version of Tony Stark for the upcoming Avengers movie.

Nobody can blame Feige for wanting star power in the MCU, but that doesn’t mean Cruise would be interested. For now, these are just rumors and we won’t know more until Marvel officially confirms anything.
