3. Marvel’s 'Midnight Sons' Project Has Its Roster According To New Rumor

While there hasn’t been an official announcement beyond several hints and a supposed appearance on a lineup of upcoming works, Midnight Sons is supposedly still in development and now has its roster of heroes.

Suppose you’re unfamiliar with the Midnight Sons. In that case, they’re an Avengers-esque group of Marvel heroes, a combination of superhumans and mutants, that take on the more supernatural elements of the Marvel universe. They were most recently seen in a video game adaptation of their comic story.

According to a new leak, the Midnight Sons roster will consist of Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch, Blade, Moon Knight, Elsa Bloodstone, Man-Thing, Werewolf By Night, and Black Knight. Some of these have already been introduced, like Moon Knight and Blade, known to be coming in a standalone movie. The other names are yet to be revealed, but with Marvel’s penchant for credit scene reveals (like Blade at the end of The Eternals), I’m sure those characters will be revealed later if this is true.

What is surprising is the lack of Ghost Rider from the list. We know Ghost Rider is coming to the MCU, with Ryan Gosling tagged to reprise the role, so perhaps there’s a chance he still appears in the movie.

2. A New Kang Actor Has Been Found According To Insider

Kang

Upon Marvel Studios cutting ties with Jonathan Majors, the future of Kang the Conqueror within the Marvel Cinematic Universe was uncertain. Having been introduced in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, it was said that Kang would play a big part in the current saga. After a year of uncertainty, plans are set to be announced.

Veteran insider Daniel Richtman says that the replacement for Kang has been found, though he is not aware of who that is. Such an announcement is likely to come during Marvel Studios’ panel at San Diego Comic-Con, where Kevin Feige will reveal more about the next projects of the Multiverse Saga. In all projects that Kang has previously appeared in, a version of him has died. So his role in the MCU could easily have been removed entirely.

According to other rumors that have been doing the rounds, even with the recasting Kang’s role has been reduced. What was once known as Avengers: The Kang Dynasty has temporarily changed to Avengers 5. That could suggest a complete change of scripts for the fifth Avengers movie, or it could be old news from when plans were being discussed about Kang. Fans won’t have long to wait to see if these rumors become reality as the San Diego Comic-Con panel that will reveal all arrives July 27.

1. Robert Downey Jr. Could Return To The MCU In A New Role

Robert Downery Jr.

Iron Man was such a beloved character, and a staple of the MCU for the longest time, so when he eventually died in Avengers: Endgame, it was very emotional. His legacy has been carried on by Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Riri Williams/Iron Heart, who has modeled her suit after Iron Man’s. The events in Avengers: Endgame were supposed to be Robert Downey Jr.’s last time as Tony Stark, however, a new rumor may prove otherwise.

According to a new rumor by Jeff Sneider, Robert Downey Jr. could reprise his role as Tony Stark in a future Avengers film, but he won’t be Iron Man and instead would turn into Doctor Doom. While the next Avengers films are still a few years away, it's never too early to start planning the events of the movie. While Marvel may have found a replacement for Kang, Doctor Doom would also work as a villain in the upcoming movies.

Since the Russo Brothers are in talks to direct one of the upcoming Avengers movies, it only makes sense that Robert Downey Jr. would return. It would be very different to see him as Doctor Doom, or a version of the character. After all, the multiverse exists, so literally anything could be possible at this point.
