Winona Ryder And Jenna Ortega Film Wedding Scene For 'Beetlejuice 2'

Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice 2 has been cast and begun filming. Winona Ryder and Michael Keaton are reprising their iconic roles as Lydia Deetz and Beetlejuice from the original 1988 film to boot. It was rumored recently that actress Jenna Ortega was on board to play opposite Ryder as her daughter. Not only has the rumor been confirmed but filming in Hertfordshire, England, last week appeared to include a wedding scene. Ryder and Ortega were spotted on set with Ryder dressed in her character’s signature black goth-style clothing, reminiscent of her character from the original film, including her hairstyle with the spikey bangs, whereas the Wednesday actress was seen in a white gown with fluffy white and pink tulle.

Though Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis starred in the 1988 movie, Davis told PEOPLE that while she would love to return, the actors aging as ghosts might be tough to explain, so these two characters may not return. Other known cast members at this time include Monica Bellucci, who will be playing the titular character’s wife, Willem Dafoe, and Justin Theroux. Additionally, Catherine O’Hara has been confirmed to reprise her role as Lydia’s stepmother. The film is currently expected to hit theaters on September 6, 2024.
