Will Elon Musk Resign From Twitter? According To A Poll He Released For Users, Yes
The whole situation with Elon buying Twitter is just getting more and more complicated. After his long, convoluted, purchase of the social media platform back in October, and many troubles since, things have now taken a turn into even more bizarre territory.
On Sunday, Musk banned Twitter users from linking to many of the website’s competitors, such as Facebook and Instagram. He faced a fair amount of heat from this, especially from people and companies in Europe. According to the continent’s antitrust rules, this would lead Twitter to be fined up to 20% of its annual revenue. After hearing this response, Musk responded by saying he would be adjusting the policy to only target accounts that are deemed primarily to create links to said competitors, as those violate the company’s spam rules.

Twitter unbanned the accounts of several journalists on Sunday. Later that same day, a user live-tweeted the location of Elon at the World Cup finals, breaking the site’s rules on Doxxing, and leading Elon to fear assassination.
Musk later apologized for the policy, and stated that major decisions on Twitter would be made on a poll. Software engineer and Twitter user Brianna Wu issued a challenge asking if he should resign. Out of the 17,502,391, 57.5% of them said “yes”.
Although this may make it look as if the poll has backfired, it may be just as he planned, as he may be trying to get out of the role. He even made a few attempts to get out of buying the platform in the first place, and the platform is currently losing over $4,000,000 per day according to Musk. If he does resign, it is not currently known who would take his place.
