As the release of the Broadway musical based on Wicked draws ever near, new promotional material keeps the hype for it strong. Just in time for the start of the Olympics, a minute-long TV spot was released, showing off many parts of its world. A few days before that TV spot, a two-minute featurette revealed how director Jon M Chu brought this world to life.

Despite its length, the featurette answers the question, “What does it feel like to be in Oz?” A lot of work was put in to create these locations, with the featurette showing places such as the Emerald City in construction. Everything is real. Everything can be seen and touched. That authenticity brings to life the story in a way the musical never could.
