With the Season 2 premiere of The Bad Batch today on Disney+, more details continue to surface on what fans can expect to see. Producers Brad Rau and Jennifer Corbett spoke with ComicBook.com about potential connections with live-action Star Wars properties like Andor and Obi-Wan Kenobi and exactly how continual world-building is kept in order with legacy titles:

“We really rely on, you know, the Lucasfilm Story Group, who is with us whenever we have story conferences, and they comment on storylines if some are veering into territory that could affect other things that are either in development or are currently being made, we’re made aware of that.”

Corbett further commented on a particular scene in Andor:

“In the Senate, we were discussing how we see the Senate pods in Andor, and that had an effect – although it’s not a one-for-one, it’s different – but it did have an effect on how we redesigned those pods slightly. We just try to be consistent and true through all of it.”

In a separate interview with IGN, Rau mentioned potential cameos for the show and how the writers are careful and intentional with fan-favorite characters such as Commander Cody:

“We are always very careful when we talk about this, but you can see in the trailer it’s so cool to have Cody back. And seeing him in animated form is so awesome. We have Gungi the Jedi. We have Palpatine. Incredible! I’m not going to say much more than that. But anytime we can bring in characters like that it’s so exciting in the writer’s room. And as we design the characters, as we talk about all the different details to these store is together it’s really fun when we have those extra action figures to play with.”

Fans can anticipate another entertaining second season from The Bad Batch, which debuts on Disney+ on January 4, 2023.
