Naughty Dog Releases New Concept Art For 'The Last Of Us' Multiplayer Game With More Details To Come This Year
With the tenth anniversary of The Last of Us arriving in June, Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann reflects on the past and future of the series. Among that reflection is a new piece of concept art for the ambitious multiplayer game that the team is working on, saying that more details will arrive later in the year.
Within the blog post on Naughty Dog’s website, Druckmann thanks the fans for their support over the last ten years. The team has treasured every moment of it. “The beautiful fan art, the incredibly detailed cosplay, the letters of support about what these games have meant to you, and everything else that has poured in over this last decade: thank you! … Our team could never have imagined over a decade ago that the kernel of what was The Last of Us would have such a profound impact on our lives, and the lives of so many of you out there.”

Having thanked the fans for their support, he teases some of what’s to come for the future of the franchise. With the reveal of the leading members of the team behind the ambitious multiplayer game also comes the second piece of concept art. The old and rusted cruise ship presents an air of mystery, having cut its way through land to rest among some ruins.
The HBO The Last of Us series premieres on January 15, and Druckmann has revealed that they will provide an inside look into the creation of The Last of Us: Part 1 and the process of adapting the story to television format. The behind-the-scenes and exclusive interviews will show the processes that went into creating both, which Druckmann hopes will offer fans “a deeper appreciation for the work that went into your favorite characters, locations, and moments.”
Since December 2022, the franchise has sold over 37 million copies, with more people soon to experience that first game when The Last of Us: Part 1 releases for PC on March 3. Along with what has already been shared, more surprises will be revealed across the year.
