Trailer For Season Three Of 'What If...?" Released

Disney+ released the trailer for the third and final season of Marvel Animation’s What If...?, which will premiere on December 22, 2024. The final season will have eight episodes, released daily through December 29.

The animated anthology returns to explore alternate realities in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), reimagining iconic characters and pivotal moments in unexpected ways. Guided by the Watcher, voiced by Jeffrey Wright, the third season promises new, thrilling storylines as beloved characters face decisions that reshape their worlds. 

The lineup includes fan-favorites such as Captain America/Sam Wilson, The Winter Soldier/Bucky Barnes, Hulk/Bruce Banner, The Red Guardian, Captain Peggy Carter, Agatha Harkness, Shang-Chi, and Storm as the Goddess of Thunder.

The show first introduced in 2021, What If...? has captivated audiences with its unique approach to storytelling, offering alternate takes on MCU history. This final season promises to expand the multiverse further, introducing unexpected characters and concluding the Watcher’s journey.

“It takes us to places that you’d never expect. It goes beyond the first two seasons in its exploration of the multiverse,” shared Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios’ Head of Streaming, in a recent podcast interview. “It pulls in characters that are very unexpected and has what I think is an extremely moving and very fulfilling culmination for Uatu the Watcher.”

Bryan Andrews and Stephan Franck will direct the final season. Matthew Chauncey, Ryan Little, and A.C. Bradley write the episodes. The executive producers are  Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt, and Bryan Andrews, with Matthew Chauncey as co-executive producer.
