Tom Sizemore, Talented Actor From 'Saving Private Ryan', Passes Away After Stroke Complications At 61
Tom Sizemore passed away in his sleep at age 61 after suffering from a stroke. He was admitted to hospital in Burbank, California on February 18th after being found unconscious in his home. He was sadly taken off life support a week later. He is survived by his brother Paul and sons Jayden and Jagger.
Tom Sizemore’s first foray into Hollywood was in the critically acclaimed Born on The Fourth of July. Popular with casting directors, he appeared in some of the best movies of the nineties including Point Break, True Romance, Natural Born Killers and Heat. Sizemore found his niche in war movies and has starred in some of the biggest in the genre, such as Saving Private Ryan, Pearl Harbor and Black Hawk Down. Later in his career, he experimented off-camera, producing and writing for film and television. Sizemore also provided the voice for one of the Grand Theft Auto franchise’s most iconic characters, Sonny Forelli.

Sizemore was open about his struggles with substance abuse, unafraid to discuss it in interviews and even attempted to get clean via the controversial reality show Celebrity Rehab. Unfortunately, it was a curse he lived with most of his life, and at times it caused him to hit the headlines for the wrong reasons.
However, there is no doubting the quality of his work. Over the course of his lifetime, Sizemore has won 16 awards and has received 14 nominations for his films and series, including his recent movie The Electric Man (2022). But he will be best remembered for those classic gritty, unflinching performances.
