To Celebrate 100 Years, Disney Is Going To Re-Release Some Of Their Biggest Movies In Theaters
Walt Disney has hit its Centennial anniversary, and with that comes exciting events. One such event takes fans to the theaters once again: eight of their classic movies will be re-released in theaters! The run will be limited to two weeks per movie in select theaters, each being staggered so the fans don’t have to choose one option over the other. Some of the tickets are on sale now!
The titles range from the older classics to the modern ones, and there is a mix of animation and live-action to see. Pirates of the Caribbean – The Curse of the Black Pearl kicks off the event, staying in theaters from July 8 to July 20. The first Toy Story film will follow, showing from July 21 to August 3. Next up is Frozen, ranging from August 4 to August 17.

Beauty and the Beast marks the halfway point, showing in theaters from August 18 to August 31. The first Incredibles film kicks off the next month, ranging from September 1 to September 14. Coco is next on the list, showing from September 15 to September 28. The Lion King follows, hitting theaters from September 29 to October 12. Rounding the re-releases off is Moana, showing from October 13 to October 26.
The official Fandango announcement states the following:
“Celebrate Disney’s 100th anniversary with a special engagement of eight classic films. You’re invited to celebrate 100 years of movie magic with 2-week limited runs featuring several Disney favorites. Get tickets now, and don’t miss your chance to see these films back on the big screen.”
