Donald Glover Reveals He Is Returning For The 'Community' Movie; Chevy Chase Is Not
During its six seasons on NBC, Community had to deal with a lot of cast turnover. During the run of the show, actors such as Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Ken Jeong, and Jim Rash were on the entire time. On the other hand, Donald Glover left at the halfway point of season five; Yvette Nicole Brown was only a recurring cast member in the final season; and Chevy Chase dealt with a lot of controversy while on the show. Now Kevin McHale is talking about the upcoming Community movie.
Recently, McHale confirmed on the Kelly Ripa podcast Let’s Talk Off Camera that Donald Glover will be returning for the Community movie. He indicated, “Donald’s coming back and that’s really important. The fact that Donald’s gonna do it, that was the big piece.” He also added that he did not think that it was likely at all that Chevy Chase would be returning for the movie.
While the movie has been confirmed, there has not been a lot of information regarding the plot and release date. We do know that creator Dan Harmon has been on to write the film and joked that he did not even know if it would be legal for actor Chevy Chase to return for the film.
On the podcast, McHale also added that the Community movie is expected to begin filming next summer.
