Three New 'Arcane' Shows Are In Development
The world of League of Legends is getting even bigger! While the long-awaited third season of Arcane may not be on the table, fans can rest assured that Riot Games is far from slowing down when it comes to exploring Runeterra's rich lore on screen. Three regions—Noxus, Ionia, and Demacia—are set to take center stage in upcoming TV adaptations.
During a recent interview, Arcane showrunner Christian Linke dropped some intriguing hints about what’s next. One of these new series has already been in development for “about a year,” though Linke stayed tight-lipped about which region is taking the lead. However, if fan theories are anything to go by, Noxus seems to be the frontrunner.
Hello, World!
Why Noxus? Well, if you’ve seen the explosive Arcane Season 2 finale on Netflix, there were more than a few breadcrumbs pointing in that direction. Between the looming presence of Swain and Ambessa Medarda’s ties to the militaristic empire, Noxus feels like the natural next step for Riot's storytelling. And according to Linke, we haven’t seen the last of Ambessa—or plenty of other fan-favorite characters. He assured viewers during a Twitch chat with Necrit94 that the League of Legends universe still has “a lot of stories left to tell.”

As for the timeline, don’t expect to binge-watch these new series anytime soon. The earliest projected release window for the first of these adaptations is between 2026 and 2027. That’s quite the wait, but considering the dazzling animation we’ve come to expect from Fortiche, it’s no surprise. However, some fans are voicing concerns about the workload the French studio might face, with as many as four potential projects now on the horizon.
Regardless of the challenges, it’s clear that Riot is fully committed to fleshing out the vibrant world of League of Legends in exciting new ways. From the political intrigue of Noxus to the mystical beauty of Ionia and the chivalric legends of Demacia, the future of Runeterra looks brighter than ever. Grab your popcorn and get ready—this is only the beginning!
