The Return Of The King: Jon Stewart To Return To 'The Daily Show' For The 2024 Presidential Election

After almost ten years away, Jon Stewart is set to return to The Daily Show. Picking the reigns back up on February 12, Showtime and MTV Entertainment announced Stewart will be the host of the show every Monday, with a rotating line-up of comedians hosting Tuesdays through Thursdays.
During his original 16-year run on The Daily Show, Stewart made it the cultural force within the entertainment industry it is today. Now, with the 2024 presidential election season getting into gear, Stewart’s sharp humour that would expose the hypocrisy of politicians will once again grace TV screens.

In a statement released with the announcement, the chief executive of Showtime and MTV Entertainment, Chris McCarthy, praised the humour of Stewart in relation to the current elections.
“Stewart is the voice of our generation, and we are honored to have him return to Comedy Central’s The Daily Show to help us all make sense of the insanity and division roiling the country as we enter the election season. In our age of staggering hypocrisy and performative politics, Jon is the perfect person to puncture the empty rhetoric and provide much-needed clarity with his brilliant wit.”
Stewart will claim the reigns of The Daily Show from Trevor Noah, who hosted the show from Stewart’s departure in 2015 up to the end of 2023. Though a great host in his own right, Noah’s time on the show never seemed to reach the cultural heights of Stewart’s run.
