The Release Date For The Nintendo Switch 2 May Have Accidentally Been Revealed
While it has been rumored that Nintendo is working on a new model of their popular Nintendo Switch console, the so-called “cat” may have inadvertently been let out of the bag by a third-party company developing a product for Nintendo. The third-party company known as “AI Shark” announced the relaunch of the popular “GameShark” product specifically to coincide with the release of the Nintendo Switch 2. In case you forgot about GameShark, you might remember that the brand was responsible for making various cheat code devices, first introduced in 1996 for consoles such as the Sega Saturn and Sony PlayStation. The rebrand, known as “AI Shark”, is not designed to be a cheat code device like their original GameShark, but rather to aid "individuals in improving their gameplay over time."
"Harnessing the power of AI, supercomputers, and our exceptional code-writing team, we are aiming to eclipse the original GameShark's triumphs tenfold and redefine the gaming landscape on a global scale," said AI Shark founder Todd Hays in a press release. "Altec Lansing is our first inaugural peripheral licensing partner, and we will assist them in capturing a significant share of the $2.5B video gaming headset marketplace. This marks the start of a series of AI Gaming technology partnerships that will enhance the gaming ecosystem for players worldwide."

The AI shark is scheduled to launch in September this year, when, according to them, is when the new Switch is supposed to debut. However, Nintendo has not released any official information about their new console, and the comments made by AI Shark are currently the closest thing to “official” that anyone has heard about the new console. Even AI Shark’s peripheral licensing partner has admitted that the release date is a product of “guesswork” at the moment.
Nonetheless, rumors about the console have been floating around, such as the release date coming even earlier than September, possibly as early as Summer 2024, with an unveiling of the new console as soon as March 2024. There are also other rumors about the new console’s specifications, including an LCD Display instead of an OLED like the current Switch model, ostensibly to cut down production costs. There are also rumors that the new console might not have backward compatibility in terms of Switch games and/or Joy-Cons.
