Co-written and executive produced by Matt Corman and Chris Ord, Daredevil: Born Again is set to wrap itself with a darker tone compared to its future Disney+ counterparts, in homage to the original show Daredevil released on Netflix. However, Marvel Studios is planning on making some changes as expected, and it starts with not recasting the original supporting actors Devorah Ann Woll and Elden Henson, who played Karen Page and Foggy Nelson.

Since the cancellation of the Netflix shows, namely Jessica JonesLuke CageDaredevil, and Iron Fist, the uncertainty of whether some of its characters will come to the MCU has always been present. And, while Kevin Feige admitted to THR in 2021 that he thought Netflix characters were still in play, nothing has been promised.

No one could tell under what criteria Marvel Studios’s boss decides to keep certain actors, but fortunately, Bernthal’s cast is now secured. Fans of comic books have always adored the actor, who has always returned the favor with his portrayals of Shane Walsh in The Walking Dead and Frank Castle in The Punisher. In fact, as he told THR in 2021, Bernthal’s only way is the right way.

“This character means so much to people in the military. So like I said before, it’s not about whether you do the character; it’s about whether you can do it right, and I’m only interested in doing it right.”

Daredevil: Born Again is set to release in 2024.
