Third Go At 'Hellboy' Finds Its Signature Role In Upcoming 'The Crooked Man'
Four years after the reboot of the Hellboy film franchise, audiences are getting another go-around at the character. After the last film starring David Harbour flopped at the box office, Millennium Media has opted for another reboot and recasting. The company announced that Jack Kesy (Deadpool 2) would be taking up the horns in a new film titled The Crooked Man.
The new movie will not only be based on the comic miniseries The Crooked Man but will be co-written with the comics’ author and Hellboy creator, Mike Mignola. Joining Mignola to write the project will be another Hellboy comic writer, Christopher Golden. According to IMDb, the plot will follow “Hellboy and a rookie BPRD agent as they get stranded in 1950s rural Appalachia. They discover a small community haunted by witches, led by the Crooked Man.”

Ever since Guillermo del Toro parted ways with the franchise, fans have been anxiously awaiting a proper Hellboy film. Director Brian Taylor is no stranger to comic book films, directing both Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance and Jonah Hex. Though neither is remembered kindly, Taylor did find success with the action franchise Crank. With the help of Mignola and Golden, hopefully, this film will be able to get the franchise back on the right track. While no release date is currently set for the film, fans can find The Crooked Man comics online or in a comic shop near them.
