The Official Trailer For 'The Rings Of Power' Season 2 Has Been Released

Prime Video released its final trailer for the second season of The Rings of Power two weeks before its three-episode premiere. From the looks of the trailer, the stakes are much higher for the characters this season. Sauron is peddling his influence in his fair form Annatar, who uses his Elvish appearance to gain the trust of Celebrimbor. Gil-Galad warns, “Once the deceiver gains a being’s trust, he gains the ability to sculpt their very thoughts.” Cirdan warns the others to fear the rings as they could bring about “an evil beyond reckoning.” At the end of the trailer, Annatar teases Galadriel that others beside her put themselves under his power.

In addition to Sauron’s deception, there’s a looming threat of war hanging over Middle-Earth. Elrond warns that Eregion must not fall, calling it a mortal blow for Middle-Earth. Tolkien fans know that the “Sack of Eregion” as it’s known in the books is a necessary development that leads to Elrond’s founding of Rivendell. Other surprises from the trailer are a young wizard who bears a striking resemblance to Solomon and an implied alliance between Galadriel and the Orc leader Adar to defeat Sauron. The Rings of Power Season 2 premieres on Prime Video on August 29 with its finale set for October 3. Check out the final trailer below.
