Last year, after being purchased by Funko, much of the talent of the Mondo company was let go in a restructuring. This came as a disappointment to many fans who adored the company because of it always being a maverick of the pop culture wave. But now fans of the company have received some welcome news.

According to Gizmodo, several of the original members of the Mondo team who were let go by Funko have now teamed up to create a new company called Mutant. The team includes Spencer Hickman, Eric Garza, Mitch Putnam, and Mo Shafeek who are working with CEO Jenny Jacobi who now will be working with the company Spectrevision. Spectrevision is a film company company co-founded by Elijah Wood and Daniel Noah.

In a statement Wood and Noah said,

“It’s not hyperbole to say that we’re superfans of this steam and their work, Our offices are covered in their prints and our shelves line with their records. It’s a true privilege to provide a platform for them to not only continue the incredible work they’re known for, but to also expand in ways that they been keen to for years.”

As Mutant, the new company will get back to doing things such as creating limited edition posters, limited edition vinyl records, and working with all the big studios such as Disney, Universal Pictures, and Warner Brothers.
