'The Hunt For Gollum' Confirmed As Single Movie But There Will Be Another 'The Lord Of The Rings' One

We’re going back to Middle Earth, though not in the way you might expect. New information has emerged about upcoming titles, including The Hunt for Gollum. Previously thought to be two films, it has now been confirmed to be a single title, with the confusion being blamed on a miscommunication. This means that there is another Lord of the Rings film in development. However, very little is known about the project at the time. However, Ian McKellen may be returning as Gandalf to both productions, and they are both in development as this article is being written. We might have more information after December’s The War Of The Rohirrim.

The Lord Of The Rings: The Hunt for Gollum is centered around the titular character, featuring Andy Serkis not only reprising his iconic role but also in line to direct. The film is set between Bilbo Baggins’s birthday party and the Mines of Moria and will feature more of Gollum’s story woven into the events of the film. The film is planned for a 2026 release in the future, and that’s where the information ends. Still, it looks to be a promising feature, filling in gaps in the movie’s storylines. We’ll just have to wait and see.
