The DC Universe Infinite App Adds A New Ultra Subscription Tier, Unlocking 5,000 Comics And Faster Access To New Releases
Hey, remember DC Universe? The streaming service of DC Comics adaptations and haven for the comics themselves? It was where Harley Quinn, Titans, and Doom Patrol originated before moving to HBO Max, and the entire streaming aspect would be dropped in early 2021 as the digital comic subscription service rebranded to DC Universe Infinite.
On Saturday, October 8, it was announced that a new “Ultra” premium tier would be added as a subscription option, joining the basic monthly and annual plans. Available only as an annual plan, it rolled out two days later on Monday, October 10. It starts at a special promotional price of $99 (the basic annual rate is $74). The raised price after November 28, when the promotion ends, is unknown, but those who take part will remain at the promotional rate as long as their subscriptions are active. The extra $25 will get subscribers new releases five months sooner than usual.

This tier also contains 5,000 comics that will be made available in November, on top of the 25,000 that are already on the service. These comics are mostly from the older-aimed Vertigo and Black Label imprints, with titles such as 100 Bullets and American Vampire. Apparently, titles under these labels were considered a major blind spot, largely absent from the service to this point. Ultra subscribers will also receive a free print comic when they sign up and when they renew or upgrade their membership: The Death of Superman 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition with a new, exclusive cover by Blackest Night artist Ivan Reis.
