'The Acolyte' Will Not Return For Season 2
Somehow, The Acolyte will not return. The Disney+ Star Wars show featuring the Jedi order turning a blind eye to many dark side-related events a century before the start of the prequels will not be renewed for a second season.
Despite not initially featuring any prominent characters from any other Star Wars production, the show generated 4.8 million views on its first day, June 4. After five days, the premiere had a total of 11.1 million views, placing it at number 7 in the Neilson ratings, showing a total of 488 million minutes of watchtime.
The following week, the show picked up even more steam, jumping up a single spot to number 6. However, this solid start was not maintained, as the only other week that it made the top 10 was the week of the finale, where it rounded out the list, with 335 million views, the lowest for a finale to a Star Wars live-action show on Disney+.
The show starred Amandla Stenberg in two roles and also featured Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Jodie Turner-Smith, Dafne Keen, Rebecca Henderson, Charlie Barnett, Dean-Charles Chapman, and Carrie-Anne Moss.
