Ted Lasso fans rejoice because the series is coming back for a fourth season. It is not officially confirmed yet, but multiple outlets have reported that the series is coming back to Apple TV+ for a fourth season. Most of the main actors, such as Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift are all expected to return.

The news is a surprise, especially with how season 3 ended. In the finale, we see Ted Lasso leave AFC Richmond and go back home to the United States. A majority of the creative team also believed the series would have a three-season arc. Producer and star, Brendan Hunt has previously told Entertainment Weekly that “we always meant it to be three seasons. I think it would be pretty cool if, in the face of how much everyone likes the show, we stick to our guns and really just do three seasons. But even as committed to that idea as Jason may have been, none of us were prepared to the degree that people love this show”.

Even though many believed that the third season was going to be the last, the streaming service never marketed it as the show’s last season. Sudekis and his fellow producers were evasive when it came to being asked about if season 3 was the show’s end. Co-creator, Bill Lawrence told Collider that the future of the show was up to Sudekis.
