Taylor Swift's 'Eras' Tour Sets A New Record In Ticket Sales
After 152 shows, Taylor Swift has finally wrapped up her Eras Tour. The last show took place on December 8th in Vancouver. Over 10 million people saw the singer perform hits like "All Too Well", "Cardigan", and "Anti-Hero", raking in over two billion dollars. The figure is the most grossed by a music tour ever. Swift has repeatedly added more dates since Eras kicked off back in 2023 due to the massive demand from fans. When the tickets first went on presale, they sold out in just three hours.
Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour also holds another record. It’s the highest-grossing theatrical concert film, with the theatrical release back in 2023 (it now can be streamed on Disney Plus) taking in $261.66 million at the box office, worldwide. In support of the tour, Swift has released a book, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, which includes 500 images from her performances as well as backstage/behind the scenes. 814,000 copies sold in the first week of release despite being exclusive to Target. Fans found several spelling and formatting errors, but it’s expected that the dodgy first run (that went viral on TikTok) will become a Swifty collector’s item of the future.
Taylor Swift is reportedly spreading the bounty from the success of Eras. She has given out $197 million in bonuses to everyone who worked on the tour, including truck drivers, caterers, instrument techs, merch team, lighting, sound, production staff and assistants, carpenters, dancers, band, security, choreographers, pyrotechnics, riggers, hair, make-up, wardrobe, physical therapists, and the video team.
Taylor Swift ended the tour with a thank you to her fans. “I want to thank every single one of you for being a part of the most thrilling chapter of my entire life to date — my beloved Eras Tour.”
