'Star Wars: Visions' Renewed For A Third Season
Disney’s APAC Content Showcase has ended, with many previews for currently announced projects shown to those in attendance. As part of new announcements, it was revealed that Star Wars: Visions will return for a third volume in 2025.
The series that gives animation studios the freedom to tell short stories within the Star Wars universe will return to the volume one format of exclusively Japanese anime studios. Nine shorts from nine different studios. Returning to provide a new short for this volume are TRIGGER, Kamikaze Douga, Production I.G, and Kinema Citrus Co.. Those providing a short for the first time are ANIMA (in collaboration with Kamikaze Douga), Polygon Pictures, WIT Studio, Project Studio Q, and David Production.
The first volume of Star Wars Visions premiered in 2021, providing nine shorts by seven Japanese anime studios. Many loved it for providing unique perspectives on the galaxy far, far away. When the series returned for volume two in 2023, it broadened its horizons with animation studios worldwide, including Aardman of the United Kingdom. That second volume was just as loved as the first. This third volume is expected to be just as popular, though some might wish it had stayed with the volume two format. Maybe for the fourth.
Volume One and Volume Two of Star Wars: Visions can be watched on Disney+, with the third arriving sometime in 2025.
