‘Star Wars’ Receives 3 Nominations For The 70th Motion Picture Sound Editors’ Golden Reel Awards
It’s not controversial to say Star Wars is an award-winning franchise. There have been many awards given to this long runner, too many to be listed here. Now, we’ve learned about three nominations for the 70th Motion Picture Sound Editors’ Golden Reel Awards: Andor, Tales of the Jedi, and LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation. Andor has been nominated for “Outstanding Achievement In Sound Editing – Broadcast Long Form Effects/Foley” for episode three: Reckoning, Tales of the Jedi has been nominated for “Outstanding Achievement In Sound Editing – Broadcast Animation” for episode four: The Sith Lord and LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation has been nominated for “Outstanding Achievement In Sound Editing – Non-Theatrical Animation.”
Competition is fierce this year, with several high-profile nominees for the MPSE to choose from. However, Star Wars sound design has been well received for many years now, thanks to the efforts of the people at Skywalker Sound. Thus, as the Golden Reel Awards begin, we should expect at least one win in the coming months. Other awards have come and gone for the franchise, so seeing it in these upcoming Awards will be interesting. That’s all the information we have at the moment.
