Rejoice, Sonic fans! It has been announced that season two of Sonic Prime will be hitting Netflix on July 13th. The voice of Sonic himself, Deven Mack, announced this in a tweet. The tweet also gives our first look at season two, which appears to feature the sea-faring pirates featured in the last two episodes of season one. Sonic Prime premiered on Netflix last December and has been met with mostly positive reception, with fans praising its story, visuals, and voice acting.

The show is produced by WildBrain and Man of Action and features Deven Mack as Sonic, Brian Drummond as Dr. Eggman, Ashleigh Ball as Tails, Ian Hanlin as Shadow and Big, Shannon Chan-Kent as Amy Rose, Adam Nurada as Knuckles, and Kazumi Evans as Rouge. Its plot has Sonic traversing through the multiverse trying to fix his mistake of breaking the prism that created these “shatterverses” in the first place. Along the way, Sonic undergoes his own arc of self-discovery and redemption as he meets up with alternate versions of his friends. One universe seems to tower over them all, at that is New Yolk City and its Eggman Council. Now, they too want to gather pieces of the prism for their own purposes. Season one of Sonic Prime is currently available to stream on Netflix.
