So Long, And Thanks For The Memories: 'Willow' Canceled After One Season
Sadly for fans of Willow, the series will not be continuing. Despite an impressive 83% approval rating from critics and a decent 66% approval rating from fans on Rotten Tomatoes, the show has been canceled after only one season.
IGN called the show "Expertly balancing accessibility for new viewers and continuing the story that '80s babies’ love, with stunning cinematography, charming performances, and vibrant storytelling, this feels like Disney+ at its best.” On the other hand, the show interestingly scored a rating of only 5.6 on IMDb, perhaps reflecting the opinions of the fans who were left unsatisfied.

This decision may be a result of Disney’s shift toward a few quality series on the streaming platform. As the Willow IP is considered one of the most prominent properties that Lucasfilm owns, there is a chance that it might be picked up again at some point in the future.
The Disney+ series is a sequel to the 1988 Ron Howard movie of the same name. It continued the adventures of the sorcerer Willow Ufgood, played by Warwick Davis. Ellie Bamber, Ruby Cruz, Erin Kellyman, Amer Chadha-Patel, and Tony Revolori also starred in the show.
Willow’s eight episodes are still available for streaming on Disney+.
