'Legend Of The White Dragon', Starring The Late Jason David Frank, Premieres This Fall

The late Power Rangers star Jason David Frank’s final film, Legend of the White Dragon, is set to release this fall exclusively in theaters across the top 25 markets. The premiere will coincide with what would have been the actor’s 50th birthday. Frank, who tragically passed away due to suicide in November 2022 at the age of 49, played the role of Tommy Oliver in the Power Rangers franchise for over 25 years. The film was directed by longtime Frank collaborator, the father and son team Sean and Aaron Schoeneke of Bat in the Sun Productions.
Legend of the White Dragon follows Erik Reed (Jason David Frank), also known as the hero the White Dragon, who returns to the city he once protected after being a fugitive on the run for three years. Reed must clear his name and save his secret family before the mysterious Dragon Prime unleashes his own revenge.

The cast includes fellow Power Rangers alumni Jason Faunt (Wes and Alex Collins in Power Rangers Time Force) and Ciara Hanna (Gia Morgan in Power Rangers MegaForce and Power Rangers Super MegaForce) in addition to Mark Dacascos, King Bach, Michael Madsen, David Ramsey, Rachel Brooke Smith, Kevin Porter, Mayling Ng, Cerina Vincent, and Frank’s daughter, Jenna Rae Frank.
Sean Schoenke shared that he made it a mission to honor Frank’s legacy by completing his passion project in the way that the late actor envisioned it:
“...despite the tremendous loss, the production team has worked tirelessly to complete the film and ensure that it meets the high standards that Jason set for himself. The result is a powerful and moving tribute to his talent and dedication.”
Aaron Schoenke further expressed his pride in having worked with such a talented actor:
“We are proud to have worked with such a talented actor, and we are grateful for the opportunity to share his final performance with the world. Having been on this journey with Jason for 10 years, I know he would be beyond excited to know that Legend of the White Dragon will be opening in theaters.”
Legend of the White Dragon will give fans the chance to remember and celebrate the legacy of the immensely impactful Power Rangers star, Jason David Frank, and will hopefully bring some closure to the Ranger Nation which is still feeling the weight of his loss to this day.
Legend of the White Dragon premieres on September 4, 2023.
