It’s impossible to deny that the popular V/H/S series has found a new, strong life on the horror streaming service Shudder. With new entries coming out every year on the platform since 2021, we’re seeing something of a renaissance for the found footage anthology films. So far things don’t look like they’re slowing down at all. We have a new entry, V/H/S/Beyond coming this October. The latest film will bring V/H/S into the pantheon of horror series that eventually made its way into space, with company like Pinhead, Jason, and Leprechaun.

As the months advance, we’re getting more information about who is behind each of the shorts, as well as the names of the shorts themselves. While nothing has been revealed about them yet, we do have some people very familiar with horror on the list. Husband and wife duo Mike Flanagan and Kate Siegel (Oculus) are teaming up to write and direct a short called Stowaway. Brothers Justin and Christian Long (Jeepers Creepers, Barbarian) are making their own called Fur Babies. Others on the list include Jordan Downey (Thankskilling), Kevin Stewart (Unfriended: Dark Web) Pal and Evan Dickson (V/H/S 85) Justin Martinez (V/H/S), and a special presentation by Jay Cheel (Cursed Films).

As you can see, we have a few people who have worked for the series before with Justin Martinez and Evan Dickson. This is good news, as it means the series is in the hands of people who are familiar with it and care about it being done right. Given the overall positive quality of the Shudder sequels, there’s a lot to be excited about.

V/H/S/Beyond is set to be released on Shudder on October 4th, 2024.
