Whatever’s going on with Agatha Harkness in her upcoming WandaVision spinoff, it seems a rush of casting news has come out of it. Agatha: Coven of Chaos has added Saturday Night Live alumnus Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, and Maria Dizzia to its cast.

This follows the castings of Aubrey Plaza and Heartstopper’s Joe Locke. The former is in some villainous role, while Ahn and Dizzia are said to be playing witches. Eric Andre is also reportedly guest-starring in an episode. The plot details surrounding this Disney+ series starring a returning Kathryn Hahn are otherwise scarce. However, with Emma Caulfield Ford returning as Dottie, at least some time will be spent in Westview, so there’s got to be someone among all of these new characters that will.

RELATED:

Zamata stars as Denise on the ABC sitcom Home Economics, currently in its third seasonand played Ayana on Hulu’s Woke, which was canceled this year after two seasons. She spent three and a half years on Saturday Night Live from 2014 to 2017. Underutilized in her time there, she may be best known for Black Jeopardy! contestant Keeley. Ahn has appeared in such series as Raising Dion, Little Demon, Supernatural, The Path, Next, Billions, and Orange Is the New Black, where Dizzia appeared in 18 episodes as Polly Harper.

Dizzia’s other credits include 13 Reasons Why, Emergence, The Staircase, and The First Lady, with a role in Paramount+’s young adult drama series School Spirits coming up. Agatha: Coven of Chaos is now more firmly expected to premiere in 2023 on Disney+.
