Also joining the cast is Suzanne Cryer as Echidna, the Mother of Monsters.  Cryer is currently a series regular on the AMC show Straight Man, and has also appeared in Silicon ValleyThe Fosters, All Rise, Shameless, and Two Guys, A Girl and a Pizza Place.  In his blog, Riordan calls her a “primordial force of nature”, and teases the appearance of her monster baby, who may only look like a chihuahua.

Finally, Adam Copeland joins the cast as the god of war himself, Ares. After two decades with WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) as “Edge”, Copeland is more than capable of portraying the formidable god. He has also starred in Haven, The Flash, and Vikings. He earned high praise from Riordan, who wrote in his blog, “This guy IS Ares the way I imagined him in the Percy Jackson series.”

Fans of Riordan’s larger-than-life modern epic will surely be as excited to see their favorite villains in live-action as the creator is himself. Percy Jackson and The Olympians is set to premiere on Disney+ in the summer of 2023.
