New Gym Leader And Frog Pokémon Revealed for 'Pokémon Scarlet and Violet'

When there are five weeks left until the release of a game, you’re never quite sure when the end of the news about it is going to dry up. For Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, this week was not such a week.
On Tuesday, it was teased that another of the Paldea region’s Gym Leaders would be revealed in a video the next day, and she was! Iono was revealed as an Electric-type Gym Leader. She’s described as a social media influencer and host of the Iono Zone, apparently the main show on her channel. She’s very energetic with some very sharp teeth. The audience was left to guess what her partner Pokémon, presumably her ace, would be. The fact that the gym’s location wasn’t named, let alone much more about her, left many confused.
However, the reveal of her partner would come rather quickly, as the follow-up video was announced the next day for Thursday at the same time as Tuesday. It would reveal Bellibolt, a pure Electric-type frog Pokémon. who as hinted has false eyes. The bumps? Not eyeballs, the real ones are right above the mouth. She reintroduces herself, clarifying that she is the Levincia Gym Leader. This was followed by a minute-long gameplay trailer, and the website revealed its Ability to be Electromorphosis, which increases the power of the next Electric-type move it uses after being hit by an attack.
