Nowadays, classic video games are getting either remade or remastered for current consoles. We’ve seen this most recently with Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, and Dead Space. One long-awaited remake has been Knights Of The Old Republic, but it seems that the remake is currently in limbo, and it is unknown whether it will ever be remastered. It seems the next game series to get the remake treatment is Max Payne

Remedy has revealed that the Max Payne 1 & 2 remakes are ready for the production stage. The remake will be developed for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Remedy is working with Rockstar to create the remakes. This is a new agreement between the two companies, where Remedy is handling the development, and Rockstar is handling the finances. The remakes will be developed on Remedy’s Nightlight game engine, the same engine used for Control and Alan Wake 2. This isn’t the first time the two studios have worked together either. The original Max Payne games were developed by Remedy, and published by Rockstar. Rockstar was also responsible for Max Payne 3

An update for Control 2 was released as well. The game is still in the proof-of-concept stage, and it will continue to be this way for the next few quarters.  Condor is a spin-off of Control and will be a four-player co-op game. It is now past the proof-of-concept stage, and into the production readiness stage. Codename Vanguard's next stages are being defined by Remedy and publisher Tencent.

These games will benefit from the recent release of Alan Wake 2, as the staff will be moving on to one of these other projects. Remakes and new games are coming from Remedy, but it seems that it will be a few years until anything is released.
