'Mario Kart 8 Deluxe' To Get Final Track Pack Next Week
Nearly ten years after it was released, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the latest iteration of one of the best-selling and loved games over the generations of Nintendo consoles, is getting its final pack of extra courses.
This release of new courses, remastered and released in packs on the switch since March of 2022, will culminate next week on November 9. It brings the grand total of courses to 96, doubling the original 48 that the game shipped with. Players who pay for the online subscription for the Switch and the expansion pass will get access to it for no additional cost. Otherwise, players can pay 24.99 for the course pass.

Along with the new courses, players will unlock new racers, like Diddy and Funky Kong, as well as Pauline and Peachette. The final cups that the pack unlocks is the Acorn Cup. Courses included are the Tour Rome Avanti, Wii Daisy Circuit, GCN DK Mountain, and aquatic-themed Piranha Plant Cove. Spiny Cup, on the other hand, will see the return of Tour Madrid Drive, 3DS Rosalina’s Ice World, SNES Bowser Castle 3, and Wii Rainbow Road.
With rumors swirling about the Switch reaching the end of its life and speculation around the next console, reportedly shown at recent conventions, growing, this final pack seems to reflect another bell tolling the end of the Switch to make way for the next generation. The sheer number of courses available now leaves one wondering what they could possibly introduce for a next-gen version of the iconic racing game.
