Production Company AGBO Has Revealed The New Plan For A ‘Hercules’ Live-Action Film
Disney fans are split after hearing the newest plan for the direction of the live-action Hercules film. In the newest Variety cover story, Joe and Anthony Russo, directors of Avengers: End Game, revealed that they are all in for their production company AGBO. “We won’t be ready to do anything with Marvel until the end of the decade,” Joe Russo told Variety.
However, the pair have begun working with Disney and are slated to produce the highly anticipated live-action Hercules film. The film is being directed by Guy Ritchie who gave fans the live-action remake of Aladdin in 2019. What was originally expected by fans to be a remake sounds more like a reimaging after hearing what the producers had to say. The pair said that they plan to be more “experimental” in their approach to the film and will not be sticking to the original source material as many of the other live-action remakes have done. They have promised that the film will still be a musical, but they will be using TikTok to help them decide what the musical will look like:
“Audiences today have been trained by TikTok, right? What is their expectation of what that musical looks like and feels like? That can be a lot of fun and help us push the boundaries a little bit on how you execute a modern musical.”

The pair’s production company is not stopping at Disney. They currently have projects in the works with Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and other major streaming services.
