'Prince Of Persia' Remake Goes Back To The Drawing Board At Ubisoft
First announced in September 2020, Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake is once again in the conception phase as revealed in a new developer Q&A.
Under the helm of Ubisoft Pune and Mumbai, the project faced numerous setbacks, leading to development being shifted to Ubisoft Montreal – the studio behind the original game – in May 2022. At that time, Ubisoft stated the team would “deliver you the best experience for this remake of an all-time classic, when it’s ready.”
A year later, Ubisoft is once again talking about the project with a Q&A that shares the thoughts of Producer Jean-Francois Naud and Game Director Michael McIntyre. Naud talked about the status of the project, saying that “since we took over the project, we’ve been looking at feedback from the community and finding our own way of delivering the game.”

The team at Ubisoft Montreal is “Putting our strengths and heart into this project,” as Naud says. According to McIntyre, the original game “made you feel things with its setting, with its story,” bringing out “an emotional response to the game that I think stood out, and really stuck with players who enjoyed the game.” That is what the team at Montreal wants to recreate. Want to enhance.
Since the remake is in the concept stages, there is no chance of it appearing at the Ubisoft Forward event in June. However, fans of Ubisoft still have a lot to look forward to, with the untitled Star Wars project, The Crew: Motorfest, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora likely to appear.
