Prime Video’s Mr. and Mrs. Smith is the latest series to face pushback due to the ongoing strikes in Hollywood. It was announced on Thursday that Donald Glover’s take on the 2005 film of the same name is set to be released in 2024.

The series, much like the successful film starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, follows the story of two spies, John and Jane, who have been partnered by a mysterious agency to act undercover as husband and wife. Each episode follows the couple on a new milestone in their relationship, as they engage in espionage missions and attempt to preserve their relationship.

The series stars Donald Glover and Maya Erskine in the titular roles. Also set to star are Michaela Coel, John Turturro, Paul Dano, Parker Posey, and Wagner Moura.  Glover co-created the series with Francesca Sloane (Atlanta), and both are serving as executive producers.

The series was originally slated to arrive on Prime Video in November of this year but has been pushed back due to the ongoing strikes in Hollywood. This delay follows in the footsteps of many other Prime Video series, including Fallout and Blade Runner 2099, whose premieres have been deferred in the hopes that the strikes will end.

If settlements can be made with the striking unions, you can expect to find Mr. and Mrs. Smith streaming on Prime Video in 2024.
