2023 was an eventful time for Comcast’s streaming platform, Peacock, and its Q4 2023 report was finally released. The platform lost $825 million in the final quarter of the year. This is a notable improvement compared to Q4 2022, which had a loss of $978 million. The streaming platform also had a notable revenue improvement; for the first time since Peacock was rolled out, its quarterly revenue surpassed $1 billion. Peacock also ended the year on a subscriber count high, hitting 31 million users with a paid subscription.

Peacock has a continuous deal with Universal Studios to stream films from the company following their theatrical run. They also have a simultaneous release in some cases. This means that the platform had a fair few enticing additions to its content library throughout the year. Some of the films added include The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Five Nights at Freddy's, Strays, and The Exorcist: Believer. Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer is expected to hit the platform in February 2024.

2024 is shaping up to be interesting in its own right. Peacock had an exclusive NFL Playoff game streamed on top of their already-extensive sports programming, the NFL Wild Card Playoff. This special streaming event, which took place on January 13, 2024, drew in about 2.8 million new subscribers in the days leading up to it. It’ll take a bit of time to determine the actual impact of this influx once the free trial periods and single paid months conclude; the Q1 report for 2024 will be something to look out for.
