Peacemaker's Debut In 'Mortal Kombat 1' Brings Some Comedy To The Blood Bath
Mortal Kombat 1, the big franchise reboot, was released on September 14, 2023, and by January 2024, it had reached 3 million units sold. It’s an impressive feat for a fighting game and cements Mortal Kombat as the juggernaut fighter it is in the gaming community.
Typically known for brutal and overly violent fights and finishing moves, in recent releases, they have been broadening the reach by doing crossovers with other franchises. like Alien, Robocop, and even Batman. That trend will continue in Mortal Kombat 1 with the latest introduction of Peacemaker to the lineup of fighters.

If you haven’t watched Peacemaker, you’re missing out. John Cena plays the eponymous anti-hero who appeared in The Suicide Squad which then spawned his own TV show of the character’s name. Peacemaker is a bumbling idiot with daddy issues who thinks the only way to bring peace is through violence, a rather might-makes-right mentality. Based on the trailer introducing his character to the lineup, he’ll bring that same absurdity to a game more prone to focus on violence than comedy.
This entry coincides with the new game mode: Invasion. Alongside the introduction of Peacemaker, crossplay between other platforms like PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC will come with the update. This all goes down on February 28.
