BREAKING: ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Release Date Revealed By Lucasfilm

It is a day-long remember, Lucasfilm just announced the official release date for the next live-action Star Wars Disney + series, Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Obi-Wan Kenobi begins a decade after the dramatic events of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, in which Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his friend and student Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker on the fiery planet Mustafar. Anakin’s transformation into the evil Lord of the Sith, Darth Vader, and the corruption of the Republic marked the beginning of the dark times for the galaxy.

Since the Obi-Wan Kenobi series was announced, it has easily been one of the most anticipated live-action Star Wars series to date. Who can forget Kathleen Kennedy asking Ewan McGregor on stage at D23 in 2019 if he is returning to play Obi-Wan Kenobi? Chills! Finally, the long-awaited series is nearly upon us, and who knows where the story will go.

The series sees the return of Hayden Christensen in the role of Darth Vader. Joining the cast are Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton (Uncle Owen), Bonnie Piesse (Aunt Beru), Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie.

Obi-Wan Kenobi premiers on Disney + on May 25th, 2022.
