Ranger fans rejoice! A new trailer for the 30th anniversary Netflix special Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Always, has been released, and it’s full of goodies! Anticipation is high for this morphenominal reunion, featuring the return of David Yost as Billy Cranston (Blue Ranger from MMPR), Walter Emmanuel Jones as Zack Taylor (first Black ranger for MMPR) Katherine Sutherland as Kat Hillard (second Pink Ranger for MMPR), Steven Cardenas as Rocky DeSantos (second Red Ranger for MMPR), Johnny Yong Bosch as Adam Park (second Black Ranger for MMPR), and Karan Ashley as Aisha Campbell (Second Yellow Ranger for MMPR). Also returning are Barbra Goodson as the voice of the robotic Rita Repulsa, and Richard Horvitz as Alpha 5.

The trailer opens with the Power Rangers facing off against Robo-Rita, who proclaims that she has found a new body after all these years and is exacting her revenge on the rangers. She fires a blast at the rangers, and it looks to be aiming straight for Billy, but Trini Kwan steps into the line of fire, sacrificing herself, leaving behind her daughter, Minh Kwan (played by Charlie Kersh). It is after this incident that Rita’s plan is revealed. Rita plans to go back in time and kill the rangers before they became rangers. The rangers are once again called in to stop Rita from changing history.

In the trailer are several little easter eggs, such as the display in front of Alpha 5 reading “Bandora Protocol,” which is a reference to Rita Repulsa’s counterpart Witch Bandora in Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger, the series from which Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was based and used battle footage from. The display also features several locales in the Power Rangers universe, such as Coral Harbor from Beast Morphers, Reefside from Dino Thunder, the Astro MegaShip from In Space, Terra Venture from Lost Galaxy, and Turtle Cove from Wild Force. The green ranger was featured in the trailer, but it has been confirmed that the late Jason David Frank, the actor for Tommy Oliver, is not in the suit, as he had declined to appear in the special. The special is dedicated to both his and Thuy Trang’s (the actress for yellow ranger Trini Kwan) memory.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Always blasts its way onto Netflix on April 19th!
