As the release date approaches, the promotional content for Ahsoka continues to drop. Recently, a brand new trailer and poster were released. Both of these pieces reveal exciting details and develop the premise of the show further. Check the trailer out below!

Many things came with this new trailer despite it only being just over two minutes long. Baylan Skoll and Shin Haiti are featured in the very beginning, giving a clear look into their goal for the series as well as their skill.  Baylan says “Anakin spoke highly” of her while fighting Ahsoka, reinforcing his past as a Jedi and survivor of Order 66 as well as possible former relationships.

Confirmation of Sabine’s saber training post-Rebels was given, and the Master-Padawan relationship came from Ahsoka. As she wielded the Darksaber during Rebels as well as Ezra’s, receiving some proper training makes sense. In a fight with Shin, the antagonist says Sabine “has no power,” but this could be about using the Force, as the Mandalorian has no problem wielding a saber.

A clear look at Thrawn was given as well, bringing the character fully into live-action for the first time. The design is spot-on from Rebels, from the crisp uniform to the bright red eyes. Lars Mikkelsen voiced Thrawn for Rebels and is playing him in live-action too.

The new poster for the series features a sharply focused Ahsoka wielding one of her sabers from behind. Keen-eyed fans may notice that this pose is very similar to a photoshoot image of Anakin taken around the Prequel movies era. Subtle nods such as this towards their shared past in reflection to the new trailer have an intentional feeling behind it.

The premiere of Ahsoka will be a two-episode special released on August 23, 2023. Fans have a reason to look forward to Wednesdays again! There will be eight episodes in total, released weekly following the premiere. The series will be available exclusively on Disney+.
