New Spin-Off Of 'The Big Bang Theory' In The Works At Max
In the lead-up to the launch of HBO Max's merger with Discovery+, creating the newly titled Max, Warner Bros has been greenlighting a slew of new series. This includes everything from a new Game of Thrones spinoff to a Rick and Morty anime. Warner Bros. Discovery has now confirmed that another The Big Bang Theory spinoff is in the works.
Like The Big Bang Theory and the previous spinoff, Young Sheldon, the new show will be helmed by Chuck Lorre Productions. Lorre has produced a number of other popular television sitcoms, including Two and a Half Men and Mom. As it is still in the very early stages of production, no word has come yet whether or not the new series will be a sequel or another prequel.

If it is going to be another prequel, it might not have to share the airwaves with the current spinoff. Young Sheldon is still going on, but producer Steve Holland has said there have been talks of ending the show with the next season. They will have to work around numerous schedules with the original cast if a sequel is made. Mayim Bialik is currently co-hosting Jeopardy, Melissa Rauch is starring in the reboot of Night Court, and Kaley Cuoco is voicing Harley Quinn in Harley Quinn. Jim Parsons has narrated episodes of Young Sheldon, but he was also the main reason The Big Bang Theory ended after he refused to renew his contract.
It is too early to tell what the new show will be about, but fans will surely be happy to know that its universe won't end anytime soon.
